*This post contains affiliate links Out of my 3 potty trained kids (the fourth is 7 months so we haven't gotten there yet), 2 of them still have issues with bedwetting at night. My oldest only needed pull-ups for a couple months, and then was completely night trained. My now 7 and 5 year olds, however, are wet about 80% of the time in the mornings, so we have been searching for an alternative to pulls up. Not only are pull ups expensive, but they absorb all moisture so don't really encourage kids to get up and go to the bathroom. Which brings me to Peejamas. They slowly absorb liquid, and not as much as pulls ups, which causes the child to feel the wetness and get up and go to the bathroom. Peejamas can absorb roughly 3 pees a night for light to moderate pee-ers and can be washed 300+ times, making them the perfect stepping stone to overcoming nighttime potty training. I was so excited for my kids to try these out, and have nothing but great things to say about this brand! They're cheaper than buying pull ups. They're eco friendly (no more throwing away 2 pull ups EVERY morning). They're comfortable and not soaked in chemicals (fire retardant). My kids love wearing them, and they are super cute. The first time my kids tried them on, my 5 year old didn't want to take them off, he kept saying how soft they were. I love the different prints they have. Also, as you could imagine my 7 year old has been super self conscious about still being in pull ups. She would hide them when getting dressed when we were staying with out of town family, and was very embarrassed for sleep overs. With Peejamas, no one knows she has any sort of protection on, so it gives her so much more confidence. After 1 night, both my kids got up to use the bathroom (they're both normally VERY heavy sleepers which I think is part of the problem), and they woke up with a minimal amount of wetness. Night 2, my daughter woke up completely dry, my son only a little wet. Night 3, both woke up dry! Guys, this is huge for my kids! We've tried the alarms that go off when they get wet, sleeping in underwear (and changing sheets every morning), we've basically tried it all and this is the most success we've seen so far with any method. I'm hoping it continues. Regardless, I would highly recommend trying these whether you're just beginning to night train, or have been at it for a while. It is worth the investment and will save you big time on the cost of disposable diapers.

*I was provided a product free of charge, but all opinions are my own. My youngest son has recently started getting really puffy red eyes, sneezing all day, runny nose, your typical allergy symptoms. The pollen counts are really high right now where we live. Airthereal generously offered me their new air purifier to try out, and it's been amazing how much it's helping him having this in his room at night. Airthereal Pure Morning APH2030C Air Purifier covers up to 315 sq. feet using a true HEPA air filter. It filters out 99.7% of airborne particles .1 microns or larger (mold spores, bacteria, viruses, pollen, dust and more). Their filters also have an activated carbon filter to remove smoke and VOC odors. In a typical bedroom, the air will be completely circulated and cleaned within 19 minutes (over 3 times an hour). You can see how that would definitely help those suffering from allergies. Not only that, I feel like it's helping him sleep better (probably because he's not as stuffy). I love how it operates fairly quietly, and also has a child safety lock so they can't change the settings. Also, it's very lightweight so you can easily move it to a different room as needed. Right now you can get this model for just $89.99, plus they offer free shipping on their site. Also, the replacement filters are very affordable compared to other brands.
*I was provided with a discounted service, but all opinions are my own. We recently had our driveway and side pavers cleaned and sealed by Forever Sealed, and we are thrilled with the results. Not only does it look 1000% better right now, but the sealant they use to seal it will keep it looking that way for years to come with little maintenance. They also offer a 25 year warranty to give you an idea of how long this will last. Initially, I met the Tampa owner, Curt. He was very knowledgable and friendly and came out and gave me a free estimate in under 20 minutes, as well as explained the process they use. Curt and Don were very prompt, professional, courteous, hard working and friendly. It was a 2 day process, because everything had to have a day to dry out before the sealant was put on. Side Pavers The sealant they use is 100% environmentally safe. It penetrates into the concrete to create a hardened and permanent barrier. As listed on their website, here are some things the sealant can do for your concrete/pavers:
As you can see on the before pictures, we had a lot of algae growth on the side pavers, and lots of stains on the driveway which look amazing after they were cleaned and sealed.
They also offer power washing services, and wood sealing. We had a wonderful experience with this company and I highly recommend them. If you call for an estimate, mention that you heard about them from my blog "Mommy of 2 Embracing Life" to receive a 25% off discount. You can find them online at www.foreversealedfl.com or reach them at (813)994-7926 to schedule your free estimate. *I was provided with a product in exchange for my review, but all opinions are my own. Last year, I used H&R Block for the first time, and was so impressed with the ease of filing taxes, but also the assurance I got with H&R Block's Tax Pro Review. Their tax professionals will review, sign and e-file your taxes, so you know everything is double checked, officially signed, and you are getting your biggest refund possible. The professional I worked with was prompt in responding to any questions I had, and it made all the difference knowing my return had been professionally reviewed. The average amount of experience that these tax pros have is 15 years. I also liked how you can have private, protected conversations with your professional through a messenger type correspondence, and you don't ever have to step foot in an office. You communicate on your time and schedule. Even if you have a really complex tax situation, they have all forms available and the experience to help you get it done right. I also love how H&R Block has Price Preview so there's transparency in the pricing and no surprises, from start to finish. There will be no confusion over the cost when you get to checkout. Also, they offer the option to have your payment deducted from your return, so essentially you pay no money out of pocket for the services. You can check your refund status online in real time. They can also do direct deposit so the refund is in your bank account in as short of a time as possible.
For tax filing season, I've been so impressed with H&R Block and the professional services they offer. I highly recommend you check out the Tax Pro Review for the confidence and peace of mind in filing your taxes this year. *I received a product in exchange for my review but all opinions are my own. The Pure Company offer products from air purifiers to water purifiers and essential oils. I've had the privilege of reviewing The Pure Company Large Room Air Purifier. Did you know the air indoors can often times be more polluted than outdoor air? This is the first air purifier I've seen that has a place to put essential oils so not only does it filter out the bad (allergens, pollutants, etc.) but it adds to the air some good! I'm a firm believer in the power of essential oils and love how they have this option. As I went to add a couple drops of oils to the small pad, I thought to myself I'm not sure this will actually fill the room (which I want it to, because I love the Fresh scent), but to my surprise only 2 drops did in fact fill the room, and lasted for quite a while. It's by no means overpowering in smell, but it's enough you actually smell it and just gives the air a nice fresh clean smell. I love their Comfort, Clarity and Fresh essential oil blends. Plus, you can feel good about what you are putting into the air because their oils are made from plants and are 100% pure essential oils with no synthetics, chemicals or fillers. I absolutely love the design of this air purifier. It will fit in with any room decor, and even add style and elegance to the decor. They also offer wraps if you want to change the color. I love the look of the Marble and Navy as shown below. They also offer a Charcoal color. The air quality is noticeably improved while running the air purifier. This purifier works as amazingly as it looks. I love knowing my kids are breathing cleaner, purer air, and I love seeing their allergies and asthma indoors improving. It also runs quietly, which is another big plus. It removes 99.97% of air particles as small as .3 microns, and with a 360 degree filter, it's cleaning the air from every direction. It also has a timer with auto shut off at the ends of a cycle. With the air quality sensor, you can set the speed to auto so it will run at a higher speed if needed. This is a nice feature so you don't have to mess with changing a setting, it will do it automatically. There's also an auto alert when the filter needs replacing. All in all, this is a great air purifier not just for function, but for appearance, style and uniqueness. I would highly recommend checking out The Pure Company, and start taking steps to make your air and water cleaner.
*I was provided a product for my review, but all opinions are my own. I am so excited to share with you all about a furniture company, Uncaged Furniture. They design and manufacture modular, multi-purpose, space-saving home furniture. I was allowed the privilege of reviewing the Stash Folding Kid's Chair. It is extremely well made, and the perfect size for all 3 of my kids (8, 5 and 2). Not only is it a comfortable chair, but it serves another purpose of storage! If you have kids, this is always a plus because no matter how hard you try to de-clutter and keep toys at a manageable level, they just seem to multiply and take over the house, am I right? Any time we can find something that doubles as storage as well, it's a sure win in our books. We tend to have more limited space, so are always looking for anywhere we can "hide the clutter". The Stash chair comes in Navy Blue, Pirate Black, and Princess Pink. The look fits in great with our decor and can also be converted into an ottoman. Uncaged Furniture also offers free shipping and easy returns. Check out their website here, and get your little ones their very own Stash chair. We will probably be getting 2 more of these in the near future, because it's now the chair they all fight over. What a great gift idea for the upcoming holidays!
*Sponsored As I was shopping online at Wal-Mart the other day, I was thinking, I should probably just be going to the store so I can use coupons and at least be saving a little bit more money. But with 3 young kids, who were all sick, it was much easier to shop online once they were in bed. Then I heard about Giving Assistant. Not only do they offer cash back when you shop online, but they offer coupons in addition to that. And now, I could completely justify all this online shopping I've been doing, which to be honest, is a majority of my shopping (except for groceries). What is it? Giving Assistant is a website where you can earn cash back on your online purchases, either to help you save money or you can chose to donate that money to your selected charity. What a great way to be charitable this coming holiday season, or to save on purchases you would normally be making anyway. Where can you get cash back? There are over 3,000 online stores to choose from to earn cash back, and they also offer high value coupon codes for over 6,000 brands. For example, shop here at Lowe's, get a percentage cash back (currently 4%) on your purchase, then you have the option to keep that money as savings or donate 1-100% of that. Groupon (currently 7% cash back) is a great place to get already discounted deals and then earn more back. I personally shop at Walmart a lot (currently 11% cash back) and now that I can earn money back on those purchases, I can use my cash back to put towards my next shopping trip (at my computer)! How do I use it? They have a browser extension, so remembering to go there first is not an issue. Making and/or donating money is automatic with the free extension. I've done cash back sites before, but would always forget to go there first, and so it was pointless. I would remember AFTER I had already checked out. But with this you get an alert at checkout. This extension takes away all the leg work on your part, as it reminds you before checking out. You can also go to the Giving Assistant website and search for the store you want, then click through to place your order. How often can I use it?
Use it as often as you shop online! There's no limit to the amount of times or cash back you can get. How much does it cost, and what's the catch? There is absolutely no cost, membership is free, and there's no catch or sales pitch. Simply earn cash back as you shop online, as simple as that! So, as your husband (or wife) sees all those packages arriving at your door, just remind them how much money you're saving this way (or donating). Plus you're saving them a trip to the store. Check out Giving Assistant, and get the extension on your browser. Trust me, you'll be glad you did! *I was provided a product in exchange for my honest review, but all opinions are my own. **This post contains affiliate links I have been looking for a water purifier that was easy to use, BPA free, removes most contaminants, and was NOT connected to a water supply (due to a previous leak). The ZIP Countertop Water Purifier meets and exceeds all my requirements and I cannot recommend this enough! Watch my review above to see how easy it is to get excellent quality reverse osmosis water on your countertop in minutes. And check out PuricomUSA's website here to learn more.

What's great is they have a Basic (Free), Standard, and Professional account so you can choose based on what your needs are. Even the Professional account is very reasonable for all you are getting. As you can see the app works on Windows, Mac and Android devices.
With the day and age we live in, unfortunately taking these measures with our kids is becoming more necessary. If doing this could prevent some of the awful things happening to kids, then it is worth every penny. Check out there website here to learn more and get your account set up today.
We recently had the opportunity to stay at SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Clearwater Beach, FL and wanted to share about the experience. Make sure to read to the end, as SpringHill Suites has been SO generous to offer one of my readers a chance to win a 1 night stay in a Studio Suite with breakfast for up to 4 guests!!
When we arrived at the hotel, check-in was quick and easy, and the valet guys do an awesome job of parking/retrieving your car quickly. They only offer valet, but to park anywhere on the beach costs money. Their valet costs are actually on the lower end compared to other parking at comparable hotels in Clearwater.
I was so impressed with the rooms. They were spotless and everything was very clean when we got to our double queen suite. It was nice to have the sleeping area divided from the couch. The tv could turn either way so my husband, the night owl, could stay up later watching sports. The rooms are modern and bright. They come with a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker which is always a plus. They have a closet with plenty of room, along with an ironing board, hangers and bench. The rooms are very family friendly, even though we did not have our kids with us this trip, it's definitely a hotel I would come back to with the family.
Normally at hotels I don't sleep very well because the beds are either too hard or too soft, but this hotel had the most comfortable mattress. It was firm but not too firm, and I actually slept really well. The bathroom is spacious with plenty of towels and a tub/shower.
There is a gorgeous pool area outside the lobby overlooking the water. They also have an amazing breakfast with so many choices from hot cooked eggs, sausage and waffle machines to cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, bagels and more. There is a business center and fitness center as well.
SpringHill Suites is only a short walk to the beach and local shops and places to eat. The views from the room's balcony are beautiful. You can see the water and it was so pleasant sitting outside. We didn't need our car the whole time we were there with so many places to eat, shop and the beach all right there. If you're looking for the perfect location for your beach trip, this is it!
Clearwater is one of my favorite beaches to visit, and finding a good place to stay is not always easy, but this is honestly the best hotel I have stayed at in the Clearwater area. The location is central to basically everything you could possibly want to do. I would highly suggest visiting this hotel on your next beach trip, you will not be disappointed!
And now, for the giveaway! Enter the Rafflecopter below to be entered to win a 1 night stay for up to 4 guests in a SpringHill Studio Suite with breakfast included! |
