I have been doing a lot of research in regards to the benefits that PEMF can offer, especially in those battling chronic Lyme Disease.  First of all, let me explain a little about what PEMF Therapy is.

PEMF is short for Pulsed Electromagnetic Fields and these pulses help to improve cellular metabolic function.  We all contain electromagnetic energy that's generated by electrical activity that takes place on a cellular level. When this is disrupted, it can cause illness or disease.  PEMF's can help to balance the electromagnetic fields within cells.  I won't get into all the technicalities, but listed below are some of the benefits that can be achieved from PEMF treatment:

  • Detoxify cells
  • Increase blood circulation and oxygen flow
  • Detox and increase the flow of lymphatic fluid
  • Raise cellular energy
  • Re-charge cells
  • Decrease inflammation
  • Decrease pain / helps in pain management
  • Increase healing
  • Nerve regeneration
  • Stimulate immune system function
  • and much more

So after researching all the benefits, I knew this was a therapy I wanted to add to what I was already doing naturally.  Plus, there are no harmful affects that you have to worry about when taking pain medication. However, the price of most PEMF devices (usually mats) are extremely high, like in the thousands of dollars.  But then I came across the Oska Pulse, which is significantly less.  It also has the added benefit of being portable - you can strap it to your problem area and go about your day while getting treatment.  Other mats, you are confined to lying on them for a certain amount of time, usually twice or more a day.  This is definitely a plus for me, since I have 3 kids to chase around and unfortunately not much time for laying down.  I've been rotating it between areas giving me the most trouble, and can do a 30 minute cycle while washing dishes, picking up toys, carrying around my toddler, etc.

I began using the Oska Pulse the first day I got it in the mail.  One of my biggest symptoms right now with Lyme disease is muscle spasms/cramps and joint pain/stiffness.  After the first few uses, it really started helping with the spasms.  It is also beginning to help with the joint pain, which is huge for me.  The joint pain and stiffness has been around for quite a while so I think it will take some time to fully get rid of.  This device also needs to be used daily, up to 6-7 times a day to get the full effect, so I plan to work it into my day every day whenever I can.  It is easy to charge when the battery runs out, and doesn't take long to fully charge up.  However, I like to charge it at night so I can wear it as much as I want during the day.  I do like the improvements I am seeing.  Also, I think this is a great product to use in combination with other Lyme treatments since it can help stimulate the immune system which is what the body desperately needs when you're fighting Lyme.  The added benefit of fighting inflammation and pain is just icing on the cake.

Even if you don't have Lyme Disease, there are still SO many things you can use this device for.  If you're sore after working out at the gym, the Oska Pulse can help!  If you have tendonitis, arthritis, a pulled muscle, stiff neck, etc. the Oska Pulse can help!

As far as the device goes, there are no side effects and you can use it as long and often as you want.  However, it is recommended that those with a pacemaker or any magnetic implanted device not use the Oska Pulse (or any PEMF device for that matter).  It is also recommended to drink plenty of water to maximize benefits.  They offer a 30 day money back guarantee, so there's no harm in giving it a try to see if it will work for you!

For more information on the Oska Pulse, visit their website here.  Plus, right now they are offering my readers $55 off their purchase if you use code MOMMY10 at checkout.  Or simply use the link here.

I would love to hear from you all - has anyone tried the Oska Pulse or another PEMF device?  What has your experience been?
