I have officially found my new favorite low carb protein powder - Quest Protein Powder Chocolate Milkshake Flavor! I have not tried other flavors, but after trying this one I don't think I ever will! It is amazing! It dissolves so well you don't even need a blender, there is no grit, the flavor is amazing, and it's so easy to make. I always am looking for an easy breakfast idea, so now I either make a protein shake, or add a scoop to my bulletproof coffee for a "Mocha-like" drink. So far the best price appears to be on Amazon - I buy mine here. Has anyone else tried this powder? Do you like it? How are the other flavors?

And to make it even better, it's quick and easy to prep! Simply place the pepperoni on a baking pan and put in the oven at 425 for 10 minutes. Then pull out of the oven and top with mozzarella cheese. Bake for another 2-4 minutes until cheese is melted and pepperoni is crispy. I store mine in a rubbermaid in the fridge and dip into cream cheese for an amazing almost 0 carb snack! You can find more great recipes and product reviews from our friends at the Village Bakery.

Right now on Amazon you can get 3 bags of Moon Cheese (0 carbs) for just $14.43 Shipped! They sell these at Starbucks but are a better price on Amazon. They have great reviews and are an awesome snack when you're craving something crunchy and flavorful!

Right now, Amazon has the Julian Bakery ProGranola Vanilla Cinnamon Cluster on sale for just $11.99 (regularly $15.99)! This is a great price for this Cereal - plus it is Paleo/Keto friendly and low in net carbs (2g per serving). It has no artificial colors/flavorings and a good source of fiber. Great for on the go snacks or a filling morning breakfast.

Ok, so after my Bullet Proof Coffee post, I've had a lot of readers ask me about snacks, because as a busy mom, I tend to need things that are quick, easy, portable but still low carb. So I've compiled a list of things I have on hand in case there just isn't time to cook an egg, prep a salad, cook a chicken breast, etc. And I realize if you are strict Keto, some of these choices may not be for you, but in order to make this diet work for ME, I have to allow some packaged food here and there. 1. Quest Bars These are the best tasting low carb bars I have been able to find. Personally, I like the Cookie Dough flavor the best, and here's a tip for you - pop it in the microwave for 10 seconds - you'll thank me later. :) I like to buy them in bulk on Amazon here as it's a much better price than getting them individually in the grocery store. As you can see below, they are only 4g Net Carbs, and a great source of fiber - which we all can use more of on low carb diets! 2. Macadamia Nuts I've discovered these are the best for snacking because of the low amount of carbs and high amount of fat. I love the Mauna Loa brand with Sea Salt. Super easy to grab a handful here and there, or scoop in a bag for on the go. They are only 2g net carbs for 1/4 cup and are a filling salty snack. 3. Pepperoni Sticks Ok maybe not the healthiest choice, but in a pinch, these Pepperoni Sticks are better to grab and go than hit the drive thru. And at only 1g carb per stick, why not grab a couple? 4. Pork Rinds Y'all - these have ZERO carbs! If you're craving chips, these are the perfect alternative. Granted it seems to be one of those love them or hate them kind of snacks, but I absolutely LOVE the Salt and Vinegar Pork Rinds here. Although, because of the flavor, they do have 1 g carbs, but that's still not bad! 5. Cheese Whips or Crisps These are a fairly new discovery to me, but again, similar to the pork rinds, they are 1g carbs and fulfill that craving I get for chips or crunchy snacks. They are essentially just cheese, and great to top salads, eat plain, or even substitute for crackers (i like to eat them which chicken salad or spinach dip). I like the Cello Whisps Brand. These are my top go-to snacks right now, but I will keep adding to the list as I come up with more. Of course, these are in addition to the fresh, whole foods you should also be consuming, like meat, vegetables, etc. But I know better than anyone, especially if you work crazy hours or have kids, sometime you just NEED something quick and easy or you're more likely to give up.

I'm sure you have all heard of Bullet Proof Coffee, and maybe even tried it in the past, but what I just came to discover is how fast it helps to get me into ketosis! I'm finally trying to lose all the baby weight that has accumulated after 3 babies and not having much time for myself. From all the research and what has worked for me in the past, I am on a low carb high fat (LCHF) diet. When trying to meet your macros, it can be hard to get all that fat in. Enter....Bullet Proof coffee!! If you haven't heard of this before, all you do is mix a high quality coffee (or any kind of coffee for me) with 1-2 tablespoon grass fed butter (like Kerrygold) and 1-2 tablespoons MCT or coconut oil. You must mix it in a blender to get the smooth, creamy consistency and small layer of foam on top. It truly is delicious and keeps me full all morning, sometimes into the afternoon! MCT is a better quality and doesn't have that "coconutty" aftertaste, which I prefer. This doesn't have to be expensive and you don't have to use the BulletProof brand. I found this MCT oil on Amazon, it's a great price, and has no taste! If you're looking for a good quality coffee that won't bread the bank, I also love using Equal Exchange Organic Coffee that you can get on Amazon here. These are just a few of many options, but it's what I LOVE using. Kerrygold butter you can find in most local grocery stores. Now onto the exciting part!! After a little break from low carb, I wanted to get back into Ketosis quickly. I drank my bulletproof coffee in the morning, ate some protein around 2:00, a light dinner, and stayed under 10 g carb the whole day. By the morning, I WAS IN KETOSIS! That's the fastest it's ever happened for me. Guys I am sold on this stuff. It gives me so much energy and really helps me to feel full and not crave carbs. Plus, it can help get some of your healthy fats in, that I always find difficult! Another new discovery after getting out/cleaning my huge blender every day - the Hand Blender Stick! Right now Amazon has them on sale here- but this thing is a life saver, space saver, and time saver! :) And lastly, these are the ketone test strips I use that seem to be the best price online. Right now you can get 125 sticks for under $8. This is a good guide to let you know if you are in ketosis or not. It also allows me to see what things I can eat and how it affects me being in ketosis. For example some can handle artificial sweeteners and dairy, some cannot. Some can handle a higher carb amount than others. These strips allow you to see how foods you eat are affecting you. Share below if you've had any similar success, or any low carb tricks or tips you may have.
